Winter in Denali

For many, if not most, Denali National Park is a treasure that is only enjoyed in the summer months. While it’s true that Glitter Gulch, aka McKinley Village, goes into hibernation toward the end of September, there is still a lot of fun to be had in Denali during the winter season.

Winter Activities in Denali National Park include winter camping, wildlife viewing, cross country skiing, dog mushing, showshoeing, and snowmachining. Denali even hosts a Winterfest in February to highlight winter activities in the Park.

Download a winter activity guide (.pdf) and come find out what makes Denali in winter such a special experience.
