There are a few things that even after nearly three decades of calling Alaska home still give me a moment of pause. Chief among them being sundogs. Simply put, sundogs are the result of light refracting through ice crystals in the atmosphere. But, that’s a little like explaining a magic trick to a awe struck child. The science is interesting, I’ll admit, but just as with the Northern Lights, I’m happy to simply revel in the performance.
