Whale tail…

Whale in Aialik Bay, Alaska

Whale in Aialik Bay, Alaska

We followed this fellow and his buddies for about an hour around Aialik Bay. They would surface for a few seconds and then dive back down for five to ten minutes at a time. We tracked them by the massive flock of birds that followed them looking for food. In the end we had to break off and head back as it was getting late, but all in all the best day we’ve had on the water in a long time.

If you’re looking for a wildlife cruise in Seward, I would wholeheartedly recommend Kenai Fjords Tours National Park Tour. It’s a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with a very knowledgable staff.
